Hotel Del Review
People generally talk about the Hotel Del in a mystical way. Where the outside appearance is astronomical and the rich history that surrounds it leaves everybody astonished. I walked up to the hotel down the holiday seasons and it is decorated to the nines. There’s a beautiful tree that sits right in the middle of the lobby. This side railings are decorated with Garland, poinsettias, red and gold. Each shop that you walk by is beautifully decorated and you can’t wait to take something home with you just to hold onto the experience. An ice skating rink is put up every year. It’s like holiday Spirit comes over the place as the children play in the ice-skating rink that looks out at the ocean.
The ice skating rink alone makes the news every year.
Hotel Rooms
But what about staying at the hotel itself. And the rooms are they just as magical as the rest of the place? I hate to break it to you but the answer is NO. I mean really NO. Rooms range anywhere from 350 on an off night to 1500. I got a deal on the Hilton Honors plan for a mere $1050. It was the holiday season but nonetheless the room should be a pretty spectacular for that price. Granite the rooms are tiny it was built in the 1800’s. So I gave them a break on that but the bathroom had mold in the showers there were no amenities at all. No soap for my hands no shampoo or cream rinse. When the heater when on it would vibrate the bed.
The place is super old and is in definite need of a facelift. I was completely underwhelmed. No part of the stay impressed me. Sorry Hotel Del Corondao I give you a thumbs down. My suggestion is to visit but stay somewhere else.
There are plenty of other hotels in Corondao cute little boutique hotels and of course Lowe’s and the Martiott.
